Testing and Evaluating
- The kinds of tests that we would develop to evaluate the success of our product design are for durability and the functionality of all its features. The test for durability should show the product's ability to survive through weather of all kinds as well as another test to durability and wear is by having test subjects. The subjects will all get a prototype of our product and put it through their daily use of their lives. Our wish as a company from these tests is to show that our material won't deteriorate so easily.
- The tests that engineers use for testing products and other things are for tensile strength, fatigue, and hardness. When it comes to test tensile strength, it is placed under the tensile test where the product's material is pulled apart until failure. Another test that engineers conduct is a fatigue test, where the product and material should be able to withstand the wear it receives through use. Lastly, the final test that is conducted by engineers is the hardness test. By applying force to a material in a very small area, the hardness of that material can be found.
- Product testing includes looking at aesthetics, ergonomics, safety, and durability, all of which has their own reasons. Although aesthetics may only seem like a matter of taste, there is actually more to it. Aesthetics refers to the pleasurable response you get to an object or experience. This is tested through surveys and questionnaires from customers for feedback. Ergonomics or "human factors engineering" has to do with designing products and environments that work well with people. This tests if the product feels "right", or its ease of use or comfort when utilizing the product. One other very important test is safety. Which is tested by having the product being placed in different situations and how it may cause harm to the user in any way. Products will also go through the test of durability, which tests how long the product may last. To test a product's durability, it must be placed in all kinds of situations and stimulate such conditions (weather for example).
- The way in which we went about our work can help us reevaluate our work in multiple ways y putting it through tests we have not put it through before. Going through the tests, it has made me realize that a little remodeling can be done just as well. One way we would like to reevaluate our product is by coming up with new ideas for a new look, but still have the same concept. Another thing we would like to do with our company's product us immediately test its durability so that any consumer won't need a new backpack for a year or two.
Marketing strategy
Our marketing strategy is distributing our product during the fall due to consumers in the workforce and in universities or school tend to be busy and a good time to be organized throughout the year. Students will tend to buy backpacks early September and late August.
Value proposition
A part of our marketing plan would be to be on most of the highly visited sites to show of our product. This includes as large markets which are Amazon, Wal Mart's Website, Target’s Website, Marshall’s Website, Sports Authority’s Website.
